Job summary

Salmon Group is looking for a dedicated QA Engineer to ensure quality across customer-facing financial products, including mobile applications and backend services. With a minimum of 3 years in software testing, you will design test coverage, build automated tests, and participate in quality assurance processes for new products.

Your role will involve collaborating with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers, along with developing clear documentation. Experience with mobile testing tools and SQL is essential.

About the role

You’ll own quality across customer‑facing financial products, covering mobile applications, backend services, and end‑to‑end user journeys.

What you’ll work on

• Mobile applications used by customers across Android and iOS platforms

• Backend services and APIs that power financial products and customer workflows

• Product features developed by cross‑functional teams of mobile and backend engineers

What you’ll be responsible for

• Own end‑to‑end quality for your product area across mobile applications and backend services

• Design, maintain, and improve test coverage for new and existing features

• Extend and maintain test scenarios to ensure reliable release quality

• Build and maintain automated tests across API and mobile layers

• Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation coverage is not yet available

• Investigate complex product issues using application logs, traffic analysis tools, and system data

• Participate in test planning, test strategy, and quality assurance processes for new product initiatives

• Identify, document, and track defects, risks, and coverage gaps

• Work closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to maintain quality throughout the development lifecycle

What we need

• 3+ years of experience in software testing across both mobile applications and backend systems

• Experience testing REST APIs and backend services

• Confident knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar

• Experience with mobile testing tools, including Android Studio, Xcode, or device farms

• Strong SQL skills, including joins, filtering, and data validation

• Experience using traffic analysis and debugging tools such as Charles, Proxyman, Fiddler, or similar

• Experience working with test management systems such as TestRail, TestOps, or similar

• Strong written communication skills and ability to create clear defect reports and test documentation

Good to have

• Experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest

• Experience testing React Native or Flutter applications

• Experience building automated API regression tests

• Experience testing financial services, lending, banking, or payment products

• Experience working with log analysis platforms such as Splunk

• Experience using AI tools to improve test coverage, test design, or quality assurance workflows

• Willingness to relocate to the Philippines
