Overview
The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a dump truck to transport and deliver various materials, such as sand, gravel, dirt, and other construction materials, to designated job sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump truck safely and efficiently according to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload materials from dump truck accurately and efficiently.
- Plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Inspect vehicle before and after each trip, ensuring it is in safe operating condition.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., tire pressure, fluid levels).
- Maintain accurate driving logs and records.
Safety and Compliance
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized driving record.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
Site Work
- Assist with site preparation and cleanup as needed.
- Follow site-specific safety instructions and procedures.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager/Supervisor.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience required.
- Experience driving dump trucks preferred.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Dump Truck) required.
Skills
- Excellent driving record with minimal traffic violations.
