Job Description

The Logistics Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods. This role involves driving company vehicles, managing deliveries, ensuring accurate paperwork, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Transportation of Goods: Safely operate assigned vehicles to transport goods to and from various destinations. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to schedules. Plan and follow the most efficient routes to reduce time and fuel consumption.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Safety: Perform daily inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in good operating condition (e.g., checking tires, oil levels, brakes). Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to the supervisor. Ensure vehicles are kept clean and free of hazards.
• Loading and Unloading: Load, unload, and secure cargo to ensure it reaches its destination without damage. Handle goods with care to avoid accidents and ensure safety during transport.
• Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all delivery and pickup documentation is accurate and completed, including delivery notes, invoices, and consignment receipts. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs. Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to management immediately.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to customers, ensuring their goods are delivered on time and in good condition. Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and supervisors to resolve any issues that arise during deliveries.
• Compliance: Abide by all traffic laws and company policies regarding safety, transportation, and environmental practices. Ensure compliance with load limits, legal requirements, and regulations related to transportation.
• Coordination with Dispatch and Management: Communicate regularly with dispatch to confirm routes, timelines, and any changes to the schedule. Report any problems with deliveries, such as delays or accidents, and work with the logistics team to resolve them efficiently.

Working Conditions

• The role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Requires extended periods of sitting and driving.
• Occasional overnight travel or weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications related to logistics or transportation are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of driving experience, preferably in a logistics or delivery role. Experience handling various types of cargo and securing goods in transit is a plus.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid NCR Driver's License (Class, if applicable). [Any other required certifications, e.g., CDL for larger vehicles]
• Skills and Abilities: Strong time-management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
