Job summary

Ather Energy Private Limited, a leader in intelligent scooters, is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to own end-to-end software craft and to design an AI-native engineering organization. You will lead scalable full-stack teams across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will establish system-level architecture, set reference designs for front end, back end, and services, and drive high-velocity, quality-focused releases with security by design and privacy by design.

Qualifications

• 15-20+ years of software engineering leadership in product-based companies.
• Experience leading full-stack engineering organizations at scale.
• Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own reference architecture across front end, back end, and services.
• Lead backend engineering, QA, and release management to close gaps.
• Drive CI/CD, trunk-based delivery, and automated quality gates.
• Architect an AI-native SDLC with AI-assisted workflows.
• Establish quality design through automated testing, observability, and error budgets.
• Formulate long-term tech roadmaps and retire tech debt.
• Oversee cloud data pipelines and OTA deployment optimizations.
• Scale a pod-based value-stream organization using data metrics.
