POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Manufacturing Facilities is a leadership role responsible for ensuring Advanced Energy's manufacturing operations have the reliable infrastructure, technical leadership, compliance discipline, and facilities execution needed to support production in a high growth environment.

This leader will oversee site facilities, utilities, critical building systems, regional capital planning, and site-based facilities teams across the Philippines, Thailand, Penang, and Mexico.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Director will translate factory needs into practical facilities plans that improve reliability, reduce risk, and enable scalable growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional Manufacturing Facilities Leadership

• Provide regional leadership for facilities operations supporting Advanced Energy manufacturing sites in the Philippines, Thailand, Penang, and Mexico.
• Lead site-based Facilities Managers, engineers, and technical teams with clear operating rhythms, escalation paths, standards, and accountability.
• Align facilities priorities with manufacturing schedules, site objectives, corporate standards, safety, compliance, and operational urgency.

Manufacturing Infrastructure Strategy

• Partner with site leadership, manufacturing leadership, and Industrial Engineering to define factory infrastructure requirements.
• Assess facility readiness for production growth, new product introductions, equipment moves, layout changes, and capacity expansion.
• Translate manufacturing needs into practical infrastructure plans, capital priorities, and execution roadmaps.
• Identify capacity constraints, single points of failure, and infrastructure risks that could affect factory reliability or scalability.

Mechanical, Electrical, and Critical Systems Oversight

• Provide technical oversight for manufacturing support infrastructure, including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, process cooling, exhaust, fire protection, generators, UPS systems, controls, and site utilities.
• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs support critical building systems, manufacturing utilities, and production continuity.
• Drive system reliability, uptime, maintainability, and resilience across critical facilities infrastructure.

Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management

• Ensure facilities operations comply with local laws, codes, environmental requirements, building standards, and internal company policies.
• Partner with EHS and site leadership on safe operations, inspections, corrective actions, contractor controls, and risk mitigation.
• Proactively resolve facilities-related risks that may impact safety, compliance, production, or business continuity.

Financial Planning and Project Execution

• Develop and manage regional operating budgets, capital forecasts, cost controls, and financial performance in partnership with site leadership, Finance, Industrial Engineering, and corporate Operations.
• Provide leadership oversight for facilities-related capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, major repairs, and site improvement initiatives.
• Ensure projects are well-scoped, properly budgeted, effectively managed, and delivered safely, on schedule, and on budget.

Stakeholder Partnership and Communication

• Serve as the primary regional facilities partner to manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and site leadership.
• Communicate facilities risks, requirements, tradeoffs, project status, and recommendations clearly to site and corporate leadership.
• Prepare effective presentations, business cases, operating reviews, and project updates while influencing functions and geographies.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Facilities Managers and technical staff across assigned manufacturing locations.
• Set high expectations, urgency, and accountability while creating a positive, engaged team environment.
• Build technical depth, leadership capability, succession plans, and continuous improvement discipline across the regional facilities organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Competencies

• Deep technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, utility, and building infrastructure supporting electronics or high-tech manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead distributed teams and influence senior leaders.
• Strong financial, project management, and analytical discipline, including budgeting, capital planning, scope control, metrics, and business case development.
• Practical knowledge of APAC facilities compliance, building regulations, permitting, contractor controls, safety requirements, and operational risk.

Experience

• 15+ years of progressive facilities, engineering, plant operations, manufacturing infrastructure, or related leadership experience.
• 10+ years leading facilities teams, managers, technical staff, or multi-site manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting electronics, semiconductor, industrial technology, precision manufacturing, or high-tech manufacturing environments strongly preferred.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field required. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree strongly preferred.
• Advanced degree or professional certifications in facilities management, engineering, project management, energy management, or reliability management are a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role operates in a manufacturing and office environment and will regularly engage with site facilities teams, manufacturing operations, technical maintenance teams, contractors, and leadership stakeholders.

Regular travel will be required between manufacturing sites in the region, with additional regional or corporate travel as needed. The role will involve time in active manufacturing areas, utility spaces, mechanical/electrical rooms, project sites, and construction environments.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate is a hands-on regional facilities leader who understands that manufacturing facilities are critical production enablers. This person brings strong technical depth, practical factory experience, disciplined financial judgment, and the leadership presence to build trust with site teams and senior executives.

They should be equally comfortable walking a manufacturing floor, challenging technical assumptions, coaching local leaders, building a capital roadmap, and presenting clear recommendations that address both immediate operational issues and long-term factory growth.
