Job summary

Allegro MicroSystems is seeking a senior cost accounting leader to manage inventory, product costing, fixed assets, and cost control systems across global operations. You will oversee month-end close processes, cost variances, and provide strategic financial guidance to optimize margins and drive process improvements.

The role requires 12+ years in cost accounting within manufacturing, with at least 5 years of managerial experience, and strong knowledge of GAAP compliance and ERP systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
• Certified Public Accountant is an advantage.
• At least 12 years of relevant work experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing set up.
• At least 5 years managerial experience.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis.
• Strong track record of driving strategic projects, system implementations, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting initiatives including systems transformation and analytics.
• Partner with Finance to align cost accounting with strategy and margins.
• Oversee policy for product costing, inventory valuation, standard costs, and overhead absorption methodologies.
• Develop processes for Vendor Managed Inventory.
• Provide executive insights into cost structures, manufacturing efficiency, and supply chain performance.
• Drive change management and ERP upgrade evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX.
• Align with Cost Accounting Manager on month-end close worldwide.
• Oversee transfer pricing and Oracle standard cost roll-up.
• Review variance to standards, PPV, and trends.
• Review job lot variance, yield variance, cycle time trends.
• Develop cost projections for COGS and components.
• Understand cost analyses and accounting entries of cost, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Ensure issues on raw material shortages are addressed.
• Participate in streamlining cost accounting system, budget analysis and review.
• Support adhoc projects; mentor cost accounting leaders.

The Opportunity

Lead a team responsible for inventory, product costing, fixed assets, patents and costcontrol systems. Responsible for adherence to the monthly and quarterly close process and timeline, oversee all entries to the general ledger and account reconciliation and analysis related to inventory, and cost variances in order to ensure the continued integrity and accuracy of these accounts on the Company’s financial results and balance sheet. Role includes gathering of historical cost data, investigating cost structures, pricing/costing of new products or services, preparing of budget versus actual expense reports and manages, interpretingcostaudits and providing impartial financial analysis and guidance, decision support, and development of financial acumen for cost accounting scope in all countries where Allegro operates. Develops and implements procedures and policies for the cost accounting systems. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of cost accounting function.

What You Will Do

• Lead the development and execution of strategic cost accounting initiatives, including systems transformation, process automation, and analytics capabilities.

• Partner with Finance leadership to align cost accounting with company strategy, profitability goals, and margin optimization.

• Oversee policy development for product costing, inventory valuation, standard costs, and overhead absorption methodologies.

• Understand and develop process for unique areas that impact cost accounting, e.g., Vendor Managed Inventory.

• Provide executive-level insights into cost structures, manufacturing efficiency, and supply chain performance.

• Drive change management, including evaluation and adoption of new technologies or ERP systems (Oracle upgrade).

• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements.

• Align with Cost Accounting Manager to oversee cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets and related month-end close processes for all entities worldwide.

• Oversee Cost Accounting Manager to ensure accurate roll-up and update of Oracle standard cost and calculation of transfer price.

• Reviews and understand Probe/Assembly/Test variance to standards, PPV and trends.

• Reviews and understand job lot variance, assembly yield variance, cycle time and trends.

• Develops cost projections for COGS and COGS components.

• Understand cost analyses and accounting entries of the cost, inventory and fixed asset teams.

• Ensures that issues on raw material shortage in shop floor, expiration and usage rate are attended to.

• Participates in streamlining and managing an effective cost accounting system, cost and budget analysis and review.

• Supports adhoc projects, and other duties as assigned by the immediate head.

• Mentor and develop cost accounting leaders and build a strong pipeline of talent.
