Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to serve as the on-site Design Site Representative, ensuring yard design compliance and certification support from head office. You will review shop drawings, coordinate technical submissions, and provide expertise on temporary works and construction sequencing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in design and site supervision of infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural design, temporary works, soil-structure interaction, and construction methodologies.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and coordinating with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site Design Site Representative to ensure construction works comply with yard design and Employer's Requirements, including certification support from head office.
• Review, coordinate, and certify shop drawings, technical submissions, and material approvals for permanent and temporary yard works.
• Provide technical expertise on method statements, lifting systems, construction sequencing, and design-related site issues.
• Lead coordination with Employer, Engineer, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors on all yard design matters, including participation in technical and weekly meetings.
• Conduct design validation for structural stability, soil resistance, and temporary works (e.g., formworks and lighting systems).
• Support design optimization and modifications, including value engineering initiatives and implementation of revised systems such as electrical duct bank changes.

Here’s what you'll need

• Strong knowledge of structural design, temporary works, soil-structure interaction, and construction methodologies.
• Proven experience in reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on-site while collaborating with head office teams.
