UCT is looking for a talented Design Engineer I, Electrical to join us in Cebu!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with experienced Engineers to research, analyze, and understand data such as customer design proposals, functional requirements, specifications, and risk analysis to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Participate in brainstorming and concept development strategies as required to successfully land new business opportunities.
• Design and develop electrical/electronic testing equipment, components, circuits and cables for new and existing products and their respective supporting documentation using Electrical CAD software.
• Support design activities and solutions for electromechanical system related activities.
• Work with account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to internal and external customers’ specifications.
• Actively participate in the build, troubleshooting, testing, and validation of new products and provide solutions to technical problems.
• Collaborate with other team members to define requirements and develop test solutions with a focus on capturing and demonstrating those solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, and diagrams.
• Support the development of qualification test procedures and carry out qualification testing.
• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and assist Operations in the creation of troubleshooting instructions.
• Prepare reports of results and conclusions to effectively communicate to management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Hands-on aptitude with willingness to stay involved until the system meets all requirements.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software – AutoCAD Electrical, Draft Sight, EPlan, Solidworks Electrical
• Customer service-oriented is a plus.
• Experience in working with: Open Source Hardware and Software with coding language background in C++, Python, Java, etc. is a plus
• Familiar with networking Ethernet, Devicenet, Modbus, Profibus, PLC’s, Lab View, etc. is a plus
• Strong communications (written, verbal, listening) and team skills.
• Strong work ethic. Fast learner with energy and enthusiasm.
• Ability to implement and verify high quality designs in a timely; cost effective manner.
• Computer skills, MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Teams
• Must be fluent in English both conversational and technical and must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must have the ability to work under deadline pressures and meet project objectives within a reasonable schedule.
• Good knowledge of electrical theories, design principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques.
• Capable of electrical circuit design, prototype fabrication, and testing.
• Excellent project and time management skills.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Minimum of BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 0-2+ years design and / or Engineering experience
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of contract manufacturing a plus.

Overnight Travel:

• Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting)
• Extended travel may be required but should not exceed 3 weeks per trip.
