Job summary

Kinterra Design Build is seeking a Design & Drafting Virtual Assistant to support our design team with technical drafting, 3D modeling, renderings, and presentation materials. The role emphasizes accurate drawings from sketches and feedback, focusing on residential remodeling and new builds.

You will produce complete drawing sets, build 3D models, and create client-ready visuals using Chief Architect and Canva, while coordinating with the remote design and construction team to keep deliverables

We are looking for a Design & Drafting Virtual Assistant to support our design team with technical drafting, 3D modeling, renderings, and presentation materials.

This is a hands‑on production role for someone highly proficient in Chief Architect, familiar with residential construction, and able to turn design direction, sketches, redlines, and feedback into accurate, polished deliverables.

What You'll Do

Drafting & Design Production

• Produce and update residential remodeling plans using Chief Architect.
• Create complete drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, details, and sheet layouts.
• Build 3D models and realistic, presentation-ready renderings.
• Translate sketches, redlines, markups, and verbal direction into accurate drawings.
• Revise plans and renderings based on project feedback and design changes.
• Set up and maintain drawing templates, sheets, and project standards.
• Prepare visuals and drawings for client presentations and project use.

Design & Presentation Support

• Support the design team with technical production and revisions.
• Assist with material, finish, and selection presentations when needed.
• Use Canva and presentation templates to create polished client-facing materials.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Collaborate remotely with the design and construction team to keep deliverables accurate and on schedule.

Social Media Support

The primary focus of this position is drafting and design production. If the design workload does not consistently fill a full-time schedule, the role may also support basic social media activities, such as:

• Preparing project-related content.
• Organizing project photos and design assets.
• Creating simple graphics in Canva.
• Helping showcase completed projects and design concepts.
• Supporting basic content organization and scheduling.

Social media experience is a plus, but Chief Architect and drafting skills are the priority.

What Success Looks Like

• Drawings are accurate, organized, and require minimal revisions.
• 3D models and renderings clearly communicate the design vision.
• Redlines and revisions are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Project files and drawings remain organized.
• You can take direction and turn it into completed work with minimal supervision.
• You identify questions or potential issues before they become problems.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience in architectural drafting, residential design production, or a similar role.
• Strong professional experience using Chief Architect.
• Experience creating residential construction drawing sets.
• Experience producing 3D models and realistic renderings.
• Experience with residential remodeling, renovation, or custom home projects.
• Ability to interpret redlines, markups, sketches, and verbal direction accurately.
• Understanding of residential construction and construction documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, revisions, and deadlines.
• Canva or similar design/presentation experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S.-based residential remodeling or construction companies.
• Experience working with designers, project managers, builders, or contractors.
• Experience creating client presentation materials and architectural renderings.
• Familiarity with residential remodeling processes and construction methods.
• Social media or content creation experience.

About the Role

This is primarily a technical production and drafting role, not a lead design position. You will receive concepts, sketches, markups, and feedback from the Kinterra team and turn them into accurate drawings, models, renderings, and presentation materials.

The ideal candidate enjoys the technical side of residential design, takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and can work independently while knowing when to ask questions.

Compensation & Opportunity
