Job summary

Manulife Financial Corporation is seeking a financial reporting professional to ensure accurate derivatives reconciliation, accounting close, and reporting. The role involves comprehensive reconciliations, GL adjustments, and collaboration across business units.

The candidate will support audits, respond to information requests, and help document processes in a hybrid setup (3x onsite in Quezon City). A finance degree and experience with derivative products are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related finance field.
  • Exposure to derivative products is a plus.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFS Applications (Lawson, Essbase, DART).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI/Excel.
  • Willing to work mid-shift | hybrid work setup 3x weekly onsite in Quezon City.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily reconciliation of OTC, cleared swaps and derivative suspense accounts.
  • Prepares quarterly summary suspense reconciliations with SOX commentary.
  • Reconciles cash collateral and initial margin accounts for derivatives.
  • Performs derivative accounts reconciliations.
  • Posts daily, monthly, and quarterly complex GL adjustments.
  • Prepares complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Supports quarterly financial close with the business unit.
  • Assists audits by providing requested information.
  • Provides timely responses to information requests from units.
  • Contributes to process documentation.

Job description

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of derivatives and financial reporting through comprehensive reconciliations, adjustments, and analysis. The position also plays a key role in the financial close process, prepares general ledger adjustments, and delivers timely, accurate reporting. Additionally, it collaborates with business units, supports audits, responds to information requests, and contributes to process documentation and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily reconciliation, investigation and clearing of over the counter (OTC), cleared swaps and exchange-traded derivatives suspense accounts.
  • Prepares quarterly summary suspense reconciliation with commentaries as part of the SOX requirement.
  • Reconciles cash collateral account for OTC and initial margin requirement account for exchange-traded derivatives.
  • Performs derivative accounts reconciliations.
  • Prepares and posts daily, monthly and quarterly complex or specialized adjustments to the General Ledger.
  • Responsible for preparing complete and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Supports the business unit in the completion of the quarterly financial close process.
  • Assists the business unit in providing information for internal and external audits.
  • Provides accurate and timely responses for all requests of information from different business units.
  • Contributes to the documentation of all processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or other Finance related course
  • Preferably with exposure to different derivative products is a plus
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of IFS Applications (Lawson, Essbase, DART)
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power B
  • Amenable to work on a mid-shift work schedule and hybrid work set up of 3x a week onsite in Quezon City
