Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Deputy Site Manager to lead MQ-9 operations and maintenance teams, coordinating 24/7 logistics for USMC VMU operations and related mission support. This role requires top-tier leadership, budgeting, and deployment readiness.

The DSM will interface with Government and contractor leadership, brief executives, and ensure compliance with safety, reporting, and program policies while supporting deployments to CONUS/OCONUS locations.

Job description

The Deputy Site Manager (DSM) reports to the Site Manager (SM) and assists with leading, managing, scheduling, exercising contractual controls, and working with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) professionals in support of USMC MQ-9 operations.This requirement could include supervising 24/7/365 operations at varying times during the year. Specifically, the DSM helps lead a highly skilled on-site team responsible for the operations and maintenance of USMC MQ-9 aircraft, associated sensors and components, and Support Equipment (SE); MQ-9 Ground Control Stations (GCS) along with support services to Mission Control Elements (MCE); contract aircrew to include pilots and sensor operators; and the maintenance and sustainment of supporting satellite equipment essential to USMC MQ-9 continuous operations. DSM may also lead a detachment of the workforce for limited-duration operations/exercises at expeditionary sites. This position is part of a Deployment Pool and will support deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations, as required. This position will require the member to be flexible in the support of assigned deployment/work schedules.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Implement Government and Amentum safety policies and practices that ensure safe and effective operations that deliver mission success.
• Ensure contract logistics support is in place and functioning to provide 24/7/365 logistics support for the USMC VMU operations specified by location.
• Capable of establishing liaison and coordinating with associated Navy and other activities that will require routine direct interaction with the USMC customer and the Amentum USMC MQ-9 Program Management Office, ensuring that all reporting instructions are adhered to for both Government and Commercial reporting.
• Ensure cost control and accountability. Support the creation of financial documents in various forms as needed to support overall effective program management that meets both Government and Commercial reporting objectives.
• Manage and coordinate research and investigations into on-site issues or problems.
• Evaluate and document employee performance.
• Counsel and advise employees.
• Responsive to program policies and procedures that ensure Amentum personnel support good order, productivity, and cohesiveness within the USMC unit.
• On a routine basis, be prepared to brief Government leadership and be responsive to Government or Amentum requests for information.
• Travel will be required on a frequency determined by the Government, Amentum leadership, and upon the SM’s or PM’s recommendations. This travel may include deployment to locations other than the assigned location.
• May lead a detachment of the workforce for limited-duration operations/exercises at expeditionary sites other than the assigned location.
• Fill the SM role in their absence.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Secret US Government clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Five (5) years of diverse management experience; and excellent communication, analytical, project management and supervisory skills.
• Ten (10) years of actual aircraft maintenance experience.
• Possess working knowledge of MQ-9A aircraft.
• Experience in inventory control, industrial and personnel relations, including the assignment/reassignment of personnel in conjunction with fluctuating workloads.
• Experience in establishing policy and procedures, training, and safety programs.
• Experience managing operating budgets and funding expenditures for supplies and/or equipment; in flight operation plans, programs, and evaluation of maintenance and supply capability to support such programs.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance plans, procedures, and policies with collective experience in monitoring and directing maintenance and supply activities.
• Have knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 NAMP and/or DAFI 21-101.
• Able to lift, carry and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Current/active State Issued Driver’s License.
• Able to acquire and maintain a valid flight-line Government Driver’s License.
• Able to travel on CONUS/OCONUS deployments.
• Meet all OCONUS deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening, as a condition of employment.
• Have a valid U.S. Passport with a minimum of two years remaining with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank Visa pages.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience supervising a large (20+) team in completing daily tasks.
• MQ-9A Aircraft Mechanic and/or Avionics Technician experience.
• BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy/Marine Corps requirements.
• Deployment experience.
• Prior experience as a Defense Contractor.
