Job summary

Axos Business Center is seeking a Senior Databricks Security Engineer to design and implement a comprehensive security framework for our Lakehouse platform on Azure and AWS. You will lead the security architecture, Unity Catalog deployment, and policy governance to protect data across analytics, risk modeling, and ML workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information security with focus on big data or cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on Databricks security administration and Unity Catalog experience.
• Experience securing Databricks on Azure or AWS with IAM, VNet, and S3 permissions.
• Proficiency in PySpark, Python, and SQL for security tooling and audits.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, SOX, GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern Databricks security architecture, including Unity Catalog and policies.
• Lead Unity Catalog implementation with fine-grained access control and ABAC.
• Secure workspace network, secrets management, and init scripts review.
• Implement and monitor Databricks audit logging for compliance.
• Oversee OAuth2/OIDC authentication integration and service principal lifecycle.
• Collaborate with data and ML teams to embed security reviews in pipelines.
• Develop data classification, Delta Lake encryption, masking, and DLP policies.
• Drive compliance alignment for Databricks workloads.
• Create and maintain security baselines and configuration-as-code templates.
• Perform security assessments of ML models and pipelines.
