Job summary

Aeven in the Philippines is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to lead Oracle and SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability and driving performance optimization.

The role encompasses cloud migrations, automation with Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, and Ansible, plus incident management in a fast-paced setting. Hybrid office presence is required, with flexible hours and collaboration across IT teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Expertise in Oracle e-Business Suite and Oracle databases (19c/23ai).
• Managed MS SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
• Strong knowledge of clustering technologies (Oracle RAC, SQL AlwaysOn).
• Experience in performance tuning, data replication, disaster recovery, and HA.

Responsibilities

• Lead Database Management across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Migrate on-premise databases to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Create automation with Unix shell, Windows PowerShell, and Ansible.
• Manage outages and major incidents in agile settings.
• Deliver analytics/reporting solutions following ITIL-like practices.
• Collaborate across teams to optimize infrastructure and services.

Job description

• Database Management: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on DBA experience


• Oracle Specialist: Proven expertise in Oracle e-Business Suite and Oracle databases, including versions 19c and 23ai.


• MS SQL Specialist: Demonstrated success in managing MS SQL Server 2019 and 2022.


• High Availability: Strong knowledge of clustering technologies, specifically Oracle RAC and SQL Server AlwaysOn.


• Optimization & Recovery: Extensive experience in performance tuning, data replication, disaster recovery, and high availability.


• Platform Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server environments.


• Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with enterprise tools such as Oracle OEM, Spotlight, and AppDynamics.

Operational & Cloud Leadership

• Cloud Migration: Experience migrating on-premise databases to cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).


• Automation: Skilled in creating automation solutions using Unix shell scripting, Windows PowerShell, and Ansible.


• Incident Management: Capable of effectively managing outages and major incidents in high-pressure, agile environments.


• Frameworks: Familiarity with ITIL standards and delivering analytics/reporting solutions.


• Project Delivery: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.


• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills; ability to present complex technical ideas in clear, user-friendly language.

Work Schedule

Employees will be expected to adhere to a flexible hybrid work schedule, with a required presence in the office for 1 day per week, allowing for customization of work hours within a specified morning or mid-shift time frame.
