Role / Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers in database application design, data modeling and SQL creation for DDL / DML
• Collaborate with software engineers and DevOps in automating the deployment and managing rollbacks of DDL / DML
• Production database monitoring, performance tuning and data-related troubleshooting
• Ensure accurate database indexing, archiving, reporting and automation.
• Build and support ETL processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in a database administration / data engineering role
• 3+ years experience managing large scale MySQL databases in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience in delivering DDL / DML changes in CI/CD pipelines and automation tools Terraform and Liquibase.
• Expert trouble shooter at MySQL related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and issues with resource contention, deadlocking, replication, security and connectivity.
• Expert knowledge of Linux systems and Bash scripting
• Participate in projects than span multiple teams from requirements to production in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent communication in English, both verbally and written to all levels within the organization including non-technical audience
