Qualifications

• Proven SQL scripting skills with minimum 2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with MariaDB or MySQL for 2–3 years.
• Experience with Oracle, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL if MariaDB/MySQL not present.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS and CloudWatch.
• Basic Linux command and Shell scripting knowledge.
• Strong skills in indexing, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive data tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork with internal teams.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Database Management / Operations (Junior to Mid-level) role is responsible for ensuring database integrity, system performance, and operational support. This position will manage database environments, perform data maintenance and updates, support analytical requirements, develop database solutions, and drive process improvements through optimization and automation.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven SQL scripting skills of minimum 2 years' experience.

• Adequate experience with MariaDB or MySQL with at least 2–3 years of hands‑on experience.

• If no prior MariaDB/MySQL experience, at least 2 years of experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with AWS RDS and CloudWatch.

• Basic knowledge of Linux commands and Shell scripting.

• Strong experience in: Database indexing, Query optimization, Stored procedure development & Database design and maintenance

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• High attention to detail and ability to work effectively & patiently with repetitive and complex data‑related tasks.

• Good communication skills and teamwork skills when working with internal departments.
  

Work Schedule Requirements:

• Willing to work on a morning shift schedule.

• Flexible to support rotational weekly schedules as required by operational demands.

• Willing to render (paid) overtime when necessary.

• Committed to supporting weekend activities and critical month‑end reporting requirements.
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Management & Analytics Support

• Encode and maintain database records accurately and efficiently.

• Support data requests, reporting requirements, and data updates from the Data Analytics team and business users.

• Perform large‑scale data transfers between systems and databases.

• Execute bulk data updates while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data quality.

• Analyze and validate datasets to identify discrepancies and maintain consistency.

Database Administration & Operations

• Ensure data integrity and validate data consistency across systems and databases.

• Manage and maintain relational database systems to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.

• Monitor database health and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and stored procedure improvements.

• Perform database maintenance activities including cleanup, backup, restoration, and recovery configurations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues and performance bottlenecks.

Database Development

• Design and develop databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and other database objects to support new systems and business requirements.

• Enhance and optimize existing database structures and processes.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes through method enhancements and automation.

• Develop scripts and automated solutions to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with automation tools and implementation of automation initiatives.

• Experience with ETL processes and data migration activities.

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.

• Background in performance tuning and system monitoring.
