Job summary

E-team Workforce Private Corporation is seeking a Data Tech Lead in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. You will lead the data engineering team, architect scalable data solutions and guide engineers in delivering high-impact data projects.

You will drive data pipelines, governance and best practices, collaborating with product and BI teams to align data initiatives with business goals. This is a contract-based role based in Metro Manila.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 4+ years in data engineering or data-intensive systems.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers hands-on.
• Strong experience designing and building large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes.

About the role

E-team Workforce Private Corporation is seeking a Data Tech Lead to join our growing engineering team. This is a contract position based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. As Data Tech Lead, you will be responsible for leading our data engineering initiatives, architecting scalable data solutions, and guiding a team of software engineers in delivering high-impact data-driven projects. This role is strategically important to our organisation as it directly influences our ability to harness data as a competitive advantage and drive informed decision-making across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable data engineering solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements
• Mentor and supervise a team of data and software engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews and professional development opportunities
• Oversee the development and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes and data infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, analytics and business intelligence to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
• Establish and maintain best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, testing protocols and documentation
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and frameworks that enhance our data engineering capabilities
• Monitor and optimise data systems for performance, cost-efficiency and reliability
• Participate in technical decision-making and contribute to the strategic direction of our data engineering practice
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy and security standards across all data operations

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 4+ years specifically focused on data engineering or data-intensive systems
• Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers in a hands-on capacity
• Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes using modern tools and frameworks
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, Scala or Go
• Experience with big data technologies and platforms, including Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop or similar distributed data processing frameworks
• Solid understanding of cloud data platforms such as AWS (S3, Redshift, EMR), Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) or Azure Data services
• Knowledge of SQL and experience designing and optimising databases, data warehouses and data lakes
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Preferred experience with real-time data processing, machine learning pipeline development or data governance frameworks
