Job summary

Cambridge University Press & Assessment seeks a Data Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise data protection measures across our global footprint. You will lead encryption, data classification, tokenisation, and secure data handling while collaborating with security teams to enforce least-privilege access.

Qualifications include 5+ years in technical security, hands-on experience with ISO 27001, NIST, and OWASP, plus scripting (Python/PowerShell).

Qualifications

• A degree and 5+ years of experience in a technical security role.
• Hands-on knowledge of data protection frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, etc.).
• Strong command of encryption methods (AES, RSA, TLS) and key management.
• Experience in DLP, data classification, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, M365).
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell) to support automation and analytics.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA, Microsoft).
• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Supporting incident response through forensic input and investigation guidance.

• Ensuring compliance with GDPR, PCI DSS and other regulations.
• Developing centralized monitoring and response capabilities for data-related threats.
• Conducting knowledge-sharing sessions and continuous improvements to controls.

Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply.

Work schedule: 3PM to 11PM Manila time

Pay range: Php 104,000 to Php 142,000
