Job summary

Inchcape Digital is seeking a Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insights and build scalable ML solutions. You will own end-to-end data science workstreams, translate business challenges into analytics and collaborate with Product, Data Engineering and MLOps teams for deployment.

The role emphasizes forecasting, optimization, and decision science, with strong Python/SQL coding skills and experience with Azure or Databricks. Excellent communication to stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar analytics role.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, machine learning, forecasting, optimization, and decision science methods.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with maintainable, reproducible code.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks and collaboration with Data Engineering and MLOps teams.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data science workstreams, translating business challenges into practical analytical and machine learning solutions.
• Assess data readiness, modeling feasibility, risks, assumptions, and implementation constraints before development.
• Design and develop forecasting, prediction, optimization, recommendation, and decision-support models using maintainable and reusable approaches.
• Lead model validation activities including backtesting, benchmarking, robustness testing, sensitivity analysis, and evaluation of alternative methods.
• Partner with Product, Data Engineering, and MLOps teams to support deployment, monitoring, model refreshes, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate technical findings, assumptions, limitations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, peer reviews, and mentoring to junior Data Scientists while contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing.
