Job description

An award-winning digital bank is seeking a candidate to develop analytical capabilities and algorithms that enable regional countries to execute targeted marketing initiatives. The primary focus will be on applying data mining techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high-quality predictive systems integrated with the banks products.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning

Support and build regional decision sciences team with data science and analytical capabilities

Responsible for supporting Big Data analytics for regional initiatives.

Leverage state of the art algorithims to deliver value of big data to business.

Business and Performance and Management

Data mining using state-of-the-art methods, keeping abreast with latest developments in machine learning and applying them to solve business problems

Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

Extending companys data with third party sources of information when needed

Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

People Management

Develop inhouse capability for Data science stream ,train and reskill the existing resources.

Work across the Region (Malaysia,Singapore,Indonesia and Thailand) to champion and share Data Management best practice.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensures all Group Consumer operations are in compliance with Group, local and regional regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Financial/Engineering)
• Candidate must have at least 3-5 years of hands on experience in statistical modeling using machine learning techniques
• Demonstrated experience in applying and implementing machine learning techniques like neural networks, SVM, recommender engines, deep learning algorithms etc
• Strong knowledge of common data science toolkits like tools like R / Kxen/ Python.
• Familiar in SQL and visualization tool such as Excel, QlikView, Tableau and MS PowerBI.
• Knowledge in Big Data Tools (e.g. Hive, Impala, Hadoop and Spark) is an added advantage.
• Strong presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals for clients, whenever necessary
• Good reputation and business network in the Wholesale banking community Internationally
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets, product development and management
• Builds strong culture of excellent service and growth opportunities to attract and retain top talents
