Job summary

Flowserve is seeking a data engineering professional to design and optimize data pipelines in Azure Synapse, using PySpark and Python. You will migrate ADF pipelines to Synapse, build scalable data models, and integrate data with Power BI for downstream insights.

The role requires ERP experience, strong SQL, and English communication in a fast-paced environment. The position offers remote work from Mexico, with opportunities for collaboration across technical teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
• Hands on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, PySpark and Python, Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2).
• Solid SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g. star schema, layered architecture).
• Experience with ETL/ELT design patterns.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into solutions.
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines in Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Support building and maintaining data processing workflows using PySpark/Python, including reusable components and structured notebook development.
• Participate in the migration of existing Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines into Azure Synapse.
• Help design scalable data models and integrate data with downstream tools such as Power BI.
• Follow and contribute to internal data architecture standards, naming conventions, best practices.
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, with appropriate monitoring, and error handling.
• Support data quality checks and validation processes to maintain accurate and consistent data.
• Collaborate using Git-based workflows (e.g., pull requests).
• Contribute to improving performance and efficiency of data solutions over time.
