ERNI, a fast-growing software development company with a global presence, invites a Senior Data Scientist to join our Manila-based team. You will design and implement advanced analytics solutions, including ML models and Generative AI applications, transforming Excel/VBA-driven processes into scalable Python-based systems.

You will lead data pipelines, dashboards, and data visualization initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights aligned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, IT, Engineering, CS, or related field.
At least five years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or related role.
Hands-on experience designing or implementing machine learning solutions.
Strong experience in statistical analysis and modeling.
Practical experience with Generative AI applications or solutions.
Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
Experience creating dashboards/reports using Power BI.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS.
Data validation and quality checks experience.
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
Experience in Agile teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Strong data storytelling to business stakeholders.
Ability to work with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain ML models addressing business requirements.
Design and implement Generative AI applications for enterprise use cases.
Perform exploratory and statistical analysis to identify patterns and insights.
Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
Build and improve scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Migrate financial projection logic from Excel/VBA to Python solutions.
Integrate data from multiple sources via automated interfaces.
Modernize data marts for projection results and analytics.
Enable parallel computation of projection scenarios.
Create dashboards/reports/visualizations with Power BI.
Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to define data requirements.
Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
Prepare technical documentation, insights, and recommendations.
Participate in Agile activities and cross-functional teams.
Communicate analytics concepts to executives from diverse backgrounds.
Keep current with ML, Generative AI, analytics engineering, cloud data platforms, and visualization.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience in statistical analysis and statistical modeling.
Practical experience with Generative AI applications or solutions.
Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
Experience creating dashboards, analytical reports, or interactive visualizations using Power BI.
Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform, particularly Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Demonstrated ability to perform data validation and implement data quality checks.
Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong data storytelling skills, including the ability to communicate complex findings to business stakeholders and senior executives.
Ability to work effectively with globally distributed and culturally diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or other advanced qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, cloud technologies, or analytics.
Experience modernizing legacy analytical models implemented through Excel formulas or VBA.
Experience working with financial projections, financial modeling, treasury data, balance sheet analytics, income projections, key financial ratios, or similar quantitative domains.
Experience working with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will design and implement advanced analytics solutions, including machine learning models and Generative AI applications. The role combines data science, data engineering, statistical analysis, and data visualization to help stakeholders generate actionable insights and make data-driven decisions. The successful candidate will contribute to the modernization of a bank-wide financial projection platform. The initiative involves transforming existing Excel, VBA, and Oracle-based processes into a scalable architecture built on the Azure data ecosystem and customized Python solutions.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain machine learning models that address defined business and analytical requirements.
Design and implement Generative AI applications for appropriate enterprise use cases.
Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and statistical modeling to identify patterns, relationships, risks, and actionable insights.
Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for technical and non technical stakeholders.
Build, maintain, and improve scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Support the migration of financial projection logic currently implemented through Excel formulas and VBA into maintainable Python solutions.
Integrate data from multiple source systems through automated interface jobs.
Support the modernization and enhancement of existing data marts to accommodate projection results, assumptions, and related analytical information.
Help enable parallel computation of financial projection scenarios.
Create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
Work with business stakeholders, data analysts, analytics engineers, and other technical teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, analytical reports, insights, and recommendations.
Participate actively in Agile activities and collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
Communicate analytical concepts and results effectively to senior executives and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Keep current with relevant developments in machine learning, Generative AI, analytics engineering, cloud data platforms, and data visualization.
Perform other relevant responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager or designated project stakeholders.
