ING Hubs Philippines is seeking a Data Protection Professional to lead and shape privacy and data protection practices across the organization. The role focuses on translating regulatory requirements into practical business solutions while collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders.

You will oversee complex privacy assessments, strengthen privacy maturity, and contribute to building robust privacy frameworks and templates across ING’s global operations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in data protection and privacy compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of privacy principles and data protection regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience conducting and reviewing DPIA, LIA, Third-Party and Vendor Risk Assessments, TIA, and RoPA.
  • Experience assessing data breaches and supporting DSR processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and quality assurance for complex privacy and data protection assessments across multiple business areas.
  • Identify privacy risks and recommend proportionate mitigation measures.
  • Advise stakeholders on high-risk, complex, or ambiguous processing activities.
  • Develop and enhance privacy frameworks, templates, and guidance materials.
  • Review assessment outcomes and support capability development within the team.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen ING's overall privacy and data protection maturity.

Role Summary

As a Data Protection Professional, you will provide expert oversight and guidance on complex and high-risk data processing activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring data protection requirements are embedded into business processes while helping the organization maintain a strong privacy and compliance posture. You will act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, lead complex assessments, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our privacy frameworks, tools, and ways of working.

About the Team

You will join a team of privacy and risk professionals dedicated to helping ING manage data responsibly. The team partners closely with business, technology, security, risk, and legal stakeholders to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into decision-making and innovation initiatives. Together, we foster a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and pragmatic risk management.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in data protection and privacy compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of privacy principles and data protection regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong experience conducting and reviewing:
    • Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)
    • Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIA)
    • Third-Party and Vendor Risk Assessments
    • Transfer Impact Assessments (TIA)
    • Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)
  • Experience assessing data breaches and supporting Data Subject Rights (DSR) processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and provide technical leadership.
Preferred
  • Background in technology, information security, risk management, or legal disciplines.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or CIPT.
  • Experience using privacy management tools.
