Job summary

ING is seeking a Data Protection Professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality privacy documentation and assessments, applying sound judgment and working with minimal supervision.

You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to navigate data protection requirements while supporting responsible innovation and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years hands-on experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of privacy principles and data protection regulatory frameworks.
• Experience conducting privacy assessments, vendor risk assessments, data breach assessments, and handling Data Subject Requests (DSRs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Background in technology, information security, risk management, or legal environments.
• Privacy certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT, or CDPSE are highly valued.
• Experience working with privacy management tools is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support business stakeholders in completing end-to-end RoPA documentation and privacy assessments (DPIAs, LIAs, SPAs, TIAs).
• Assess privacy and data protection risks and recommend proportionate mitigation measures.
• Translate regulatory, legal, and policy requirements into actionable guidance and assessments.
• Independently manage moderately complex or sensitive processing activities.
• Support higher-risk or more ambiguous requests escalated by colleagues.
• Escalate material risks and unresolved issues when appropriate.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment methodologies, templates, and guidance materials.

As a Data Protection Professional, you will play a key execution role within our data protection team. You will deliver high-quality privacy documentation and assessments, applying sound judgment and working with minimal supervision. You'll partner with stakeholders across the organization, helping them navigate data protection requirements while supporting responsible innovation and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.

About the Team

You'll join a team dedicated to enabling the business to manage personal data responsibly and confidently. The team provides guidance, assessments, and oversight across a wide range of data processing activities, helping ensure that privacy considerations are embedded into decision-making and business processes. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement are central to how we work, creating an environment where expertise and practical problem-solving are valued.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support business stakeholders in completing end-to-end Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) documentation and data protection assessments, including DPIAs, LIAs, SPAs, and TIAs.
• Assess privacy and data protection risks and recommend proportionate, practical mitigation measures.
• Translate regulatory, legal, and policy requirements into actionable guidance and assessments.
• Independently manage moderately complex or sensitive processing activities.
• Support higher-risk or more ambiguous requests escalated by colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working with privacy management tools is an advantage.
