Job summary

J4RVIS is hiring a Data Engineer to design and own production data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt. You will model data, optimise pipelines, and ensure data quality while collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders across Australia and the Philippines.

You’ll take ownership from ingestion through testing, deployment, monitoring, and cost optimisation, enabling analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. You’ll join a data-focused consultancy driving transformation.

Qualifications

• Snowflake experience building and supporting production data pipelines.
• dbt projects with modelling, materialisations, testing, and documentation.
• Strong SQL for complex transformations, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience building and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehouse design.
• Python for automation, data processing, or pipeline support.
• Ownership of production pipelines, monitoring, reliability, and data quality.
• Experience with Git, testing, and deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt.
• Develop modular dbt models with SQL, materialisations, incremental strategies, and macros.
• Implement dbt tests, source freshness checks, and documentation for data quality.
• Design and maintain ELT workflows with ingestion tools like Fivetran.
• Create dimensional data models including fact and dimension tables.
• Optimize Snowflake query performance, warehouse utilisation and costs.
• Build and maintain orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and alerts for pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD practices for dbt and data platform changes with version control and automated tests.
• Apply data governance and security practices, including access controls.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, investigate data discrepancies, and implement lasting fixes.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data solutions.
• Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, and runbooks to maintain engineering standards.
