Job summary

CSI Interfusion is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to contribute hands-on to our ASR data pipeline. You will engineer, preprocess, and quality-validate large speech and text datasets that directly influence ASR model performance.

You will design data transformations, optimize audio processing pipelines, and improve robustness and reproducibility through clean logs and documentation. A Top 10 university student with strong Python skills is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong Python fundamentals, able to write, debug, and improve data-processing scripts.
• High ownership mindset with attention to data quality, standards, and reproducibility.
• Able to commit to 6 months or longer for meaningful depth and impact.
• Exposure to Speech, ASR, or NLP through coursework or projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, preprocess, and quality-validate large-scale speech and text datasets that influence ASR model performance.
• Design and execute data transformations: text normalization, chunking, format conversion, and structured analysis.
• Optimize audio pipelines through segmentation, merging, transcoding, and subtitle/caption QA.
• Strengthen data pipelines with robust logs, documentation, and traceability.
• Proactively identify data quality risks and triage issues at scale with clear ownership.
