Job summary

HedgeServ is seeking a Data Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-wide ETL processes, transforming data from external sources for internal applications. You will develop Python-based solutions, including Jupyter notebooks, and help migrate legacy processes to scalable code.

You’ll collaborate with production and cross‑functional teams, contributing to documentation and automation, while supporting data-driven decision making in a distributed global environment that aligns with U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python; experience with SQL and Bash.
• Solid knowledge of data‑science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formula construction.
• Ability to read and interpret XML schemas and XML workflows.
• Experience with AWS technologies including Kibana and APM for troubleshooting.
• OO programming, design patterns, and core software engineering concepts.
• Experience in agile software development and production deployments.
• Experience in financial services is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• ETL Development – Design, build, test, and evolve ETL pipelines using Python and Jupyter notebooks.
• Data Transformation – Convert raw data streams from multiple external sources for proprietary applications.
• Documentation – Produce and maintain clear, detailed documentation for ETL processes.
• Support & Incident Response – SLA‑compliant assistance for tickets and incidents with rapid fixes to production.
• Continuous Improvement – Apply industry best practices and new technologies to team workflows.
• Communication – Translate complex problems into streamlined solutions for internal stakeholders, including senior management.
