Job summary

Penbrothers is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable SQL-based data pipelines using Databricks. You will enable self-service access for engineering teams while collaborating with DevOps to strengthen cloud infrastructure and security.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in data engineering, strong Databricks and SQL skills, and experience with SQL Server and ETL/ELT workflows. This role supports global data access from a remote workplace.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional Data Engineer experience.
• Strong Databricks expertise and SQL development.
• Experience building/maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL-based data pipelines using Databricks.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for secure, reliable access to enterprise data.
• Develop reusable data assets and standardized datasets for citizen engineers.
• Collaborate with the DevOps Engineer to enhance cloud infrastructure for data platforms.
• Integrate and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases within Databricks.
