Job summary

blaseek is seeking a Data Engineer to design and manage robust data pipelines, cloud data platforms, and large-scale data systems. You will focus on seamless data movement, transformation, and accessibility, with emphasis on Databricks, Python, SQL, and Azure.

You will collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver clean datasets, develop validation, and support data governance and reporting needs using Power BI. Join a collaborative Agile team to drive delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Physics or related IT fields.
• Strong experience with Databricks for data engineering and processing at scale.
• Proficient in Python (Apache Spark), SQL, and DAX.
• Familiar with data pipeline development, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and integration.
• Experience with Azure cloud services; knowledge of AWS is a plus.
• Hands-on with version control tools like GitHub and Agile teams.
• Comfortable with data wrangling, performance tuning, and troubleshooting large datasets.
• Familiar with Power BI; Tableau is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming data.
• Build and optimize data architectures using Databricks for high performance.
• Integrate data from APIs, cloud storage, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Work with structured and semi-structured data formats like parquet, JSON, CSV, and SQL.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver clean, accessible datasets.
• Develop validation processes to monitor data quality and completeness.
• Support data modeling, metadata management, and governance initiatives.
• Manage compute and storage on Azure, AWS, and Linux environments.
• Automate data workflows using Python (with Spark) and SQL.
• Participate in testing/validation of pipelines before production.
• Document data pipelines and workflows for transparency and handover to IT.
• Provide ad-hoc data extraction and reporting support with Power BI or DAX.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and drive delivery in a collaborative environment.
