Job summary

ERNI Development Center Philippines Inc. in Mandaluyong is seeking a Data Engineer – Databricks & Cloud Data Platform to provide L2/L3 operational support for enterprise data platforms.

You will work with platform engineers, data engineers, and operations teams to ensure reliability, stability, and performance of data processing environments. The role involves incident investigation, troubleshooting data pipelines, and contributing to service improvements while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting or administering Databricks in production.
• Experience supporting enterprise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Good understanding of data engineering principles and distributed processing architectures.
• Python for automation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Databricks-based enterprise data platforms.
• Investigate incidents affecting data pipelines, workflows, clusters, integrations, and platform services.
• Troubleshoot Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, and ETL/ELT workloads in production.
• Monitor platform health and mitigate risks before impacting users.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and product teams to resolve issues.
• Support data services on AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and service improvements.
• Improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

How can you contribute to the team

As a Data Engineer - Databricks & Cloud Data Platform, you will provide L2/L3 operational support for enterprise data platforms and services. You will work closely with platform engineers, data engineers, product stakeholders, and operations teams to ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of data processing environments. You will investigate incidents, troubleshoot data pipelines, support cloud-native services, contribute to operational excellence initiatives, and help drive continuous service improvements across the data platform landscape.

• Provide operational support for Databricks-based enterprise data platforms.
• Investigate and resolve incidents affecting data pipelines, workflows, clusters, integrations, and platform services.
• Troubleshoot Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, and ETL/ELT workloads running in production environments.
• Monitor platform health and identify potential risks before they impact users and business processes.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Support data services deployed on AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Contribute to automation initiatives and service improvement opportunities.
• Help improve operational efficiency, service reliability, and platform scalability.

Work Setup:

Hybrid (required to report onsite at least once a week, subject to project and business needs)
