Position Overview

RecruitGo is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Centre Engineer to manage and maintain the technical environment of our data centre. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth functioning of the infrastructure by monitoring systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and providing technical support. You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of our servers, networks, and hosted equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in network and systems administration, a proactive approach to operations and troubleshooting, and excellent coordination skills to work with internal teams, vendors, and customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the data centre environment, supervise system status, and identify, log, and escalate issues to senior technical staff.
  • Conduct preventive system and server maintenance to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
  • Manage and maintain data centre infrastructure including servers, routers, switches, and other networking hardware.
  • Ensure the security of network systems and perform technical support for system integrity and reliability.
  • Administer configuration changes and assist in debugging of network connections and hardware-related issues.
  • Perform daily inspection of hosted equipment and maintain records of faults, maintenance activities, and equipment logs.
  • Support data maintenance activities, system transactions, and report generation.
  • Assist in user administration tasks, maintain documentation and operational process logs, and provide support to administrators and end-users.
  • Coordinate scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance activities with operators, vendors, and customers to minimize service interruptions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a data centre, IT operations, or infrastructure support role.
  • Solid understanding of server, network, and storage hardware.
  • Experience with managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and network security practices.
  • Proficient in system documentation and configuration management.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills for dealing with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and respond quickly to issues.
