Job summary

Manila Water Company, Inc. is seeking a data analytics professional to turn raw data into actionable insights for Operations. You will gather data from multiple sources, build ML models, and develop dashboards to monitor KPIs and drive service improvements.

The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering or data science and at least two years of experience in analytics, Python/SQL, and visualization, with a willingness to collaborate with operating units and governance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/College degree in Engineering, Statistics, Math, Data Analytics, or Data Science.
• At least two years of relevant experience in data analysis, ML model development, visualization, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Proficient with Matlab, MS Fabric, Python, and SQL.
• Experience in water/wastewater operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and gather structured and unstructured data from various sources to support KPIs and service improvements.
• Provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics for water supply and wastewater operations.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover past trends and provide actionable insights.
• Perform investigative analysis to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Identify pain points and critical paths to maximize data-driven actions with operating units.
• Develop, train, and evaluate ML models for forecasting critical parameters such as water quality and billed volume.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize ML models to generate forecasts for efficient operations.
• Develop anomaly detection systems for operational data to enable quick escalation.
• Develop and improve OPSG data models and dashboards via PowerBI and visualization tools.
• Collaborate with operating units to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Coordinate with data governance on group data requirements.
• Stay updated on AI/ML trends and lead continual improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a Bachelor’s/College Degree in any of the following or related fields: Engineering, Statistics, Math, Applied Math, Data Analytics, Data Science.

• With at least two (2) years of relevant work experience in data analysis and interpretation, machine learning model development, data visualization and reporting, collaboration and stakeholder management.

• Proficient in using data tools and platforms (e.g. Matlab, MS Fabric) and programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL).

• Previous work experience in water/wastewater operations is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and gather structured and unstructured data from various sources that is relevant and will support the Operations Group’s attainment of KPIs and efficiency targets and successful completion of service improvement initiatives.

• Provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics report on the operational data of water supply, wastewater, and support groups that will drive business and operational decisions.

• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover past trends and patterns and provide actionable insights based on the historical data.

• Perform investigative analysis to identify root cause of pertinent operational issues and concerns and recommend solutions to address them.

• Identify pain points and critical paths in the attainment of targets and maximize the power of data to provide actions and solutions together with the operating units.

• Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models for forecasting critical operational parameters such as water quality, billed volume and supply, etc.

• Deploy, monitor, optimize, and utilize these machine learning models to generate forecasts and insights that will support efficient operations.

• Develop advanced anomaly detection systems for operational data through machine learning to help in quick escalation and resolution of operational issues and concerns.

• Develop, maintain, and improve OPSG data models and dashboards through PowerBI and relevant visualization tools.

• Work and collaborate with the operating units to understand their data needs and provide tailored solution.

• Work and collaborate with the data management and governance section on the data requirements of the group.

• Stay updated in the newest trends on AI/ML and data analytics and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to this.
