Role Overview

The Finance Data Analyst will support the delivery of the Finance transformation strategy, focusing on process automation, data management and dynamic reporting developments, using a variety of formal and Fintech tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with finance teams to identify processes where automation would result in significant time savings and improved controls.
• Help define business requirements and translate them into project deliverables.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines/workflows (mainly using Alteryx), MI dashboards and data models for internal and external customers.
• Ensure data solutions are available for decision makers through reports and self‑service methods.
• Explore and recommend emerging technologies and techniques to enhance the BI/MI landscape.
• Analyze data from multiple sources using APIs, SQL queries, etc., collating and combining into views that satisfy MI objectives.
• Maintain reference data that enriches MI outputs and identify opportunities to use corporate or external reference data.
• Identify data quality issues in system data and propose cleansing, normalization, or prevention methods.
• Work on diverse data, reporting and process improvement projects across the business, including visualisation, ETL development, business controls and regulatory reporting.
• Support administration and optimisation of Alteryx servers and the gallery, sharing best practice with in‑house Alteryx developers.
• Identify key reporting needs and pain points for various audiences and lead efforts from concept to final deliverable.
• Maintain a project list detailing current projects and progress.
• Manage project delivery according to TPICAP project methodology, policies and standards.
• Develop, monitor, and execute a comprehensive communications plan throughout the project life‑cycle.
• Manage all own project documentation and support finance colleagues with their documentation.
• Provide training on tools and systems where required.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educated to degree level.
• Subject‑matter expert in Finance, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
• Strong technical grounding, ideally with some programming skills.
• Extremely passionate about data and analytics.
• Understanding of database and data modelling concepts.
• Extensive experience with Alteryx or a similar ETL tool.
• Experience with visualisation software (preferably Qlik and/or Power BI).
• Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge.
• Experience with PowerAutomate & Power Applications (or AWS equivalent).
• Advanced Power Query & Excel skills.
• Outstanding oral and written communication at a senior stakeholder level.
• Relevant qualifying, certification or accreditation desirable.
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in project‑management software tools (JIRA).
• Strong track record in delivering projects.
• Experience working in a fast‑moving environment.
• Process analysis, design and engineering skills.
• Ability to understand and translate complex business requirements.
• Desirable experience with technical finance and regulatory exposure.
• Experience with AWS and Snowflake technologies.
• Knowledge of a modern scripting language (Python, R, etc.).
• Experience with Oracle, Concur or OneStream.
• Proficiency working with APIs.
