Job summary

ByteDance is seeking an analytics intern to maintain dashboards for creators and campaign performance, and to support planning, monitoring, and analysis across delivery streams.

You will work with Excel-based analyses, BI tools, and live-session support, translating data into actionable insights for stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Engineering, CS or related field.
• Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX, SUMIFS, PivotTables, charts, data validation, basic automation).
• Proficient with productivity and collaboration tools like Lark/Microsoft Office or equivalents.
• Comfortable handling large datasets, data cleaning, reconciliation, and quality checks.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with ability to translate data into insights and actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to organize information and present updates clearly.
• Proactive and organized, able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve weekly trackers and dashboards for creators, campaigns, and performance metrics.
• Support campaign planning, monitoring, and post-campaign analysis.
• Assist with data extraction, cleaning, reconciliation, and QA for accuracy across reports.
• Prepare weekly insights and executive summaries highlighting drivers, gaps, trends, and next steps.
• Support operations during major campaign periods, including live session coordination.
• Provide backend support at creator live studios as needed.
• Support ad hoc analytics, process docs, workflow improvements, and basic research on potential creators and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ongoing projects and initiatives.

• Maintain and improve weekly trackers and dashboards for creators, Creator Managers, and campaign performance, including Live GMV, sessions, penetration, and pacing versus target.
• Support campaign planning, monitoring, and pre
• and post-campaign performance analysis.
• Assist with data extraction, cleaning, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports and trackers.
• Prepare weekly insights and executive summaries highlighting key performance drivers, gaps, trends, and recommended next steps for stakeholders.
• Support creator and campaign operations during major campaign periods, including live session monitoring and coordination.
• Gain hands-on exposure to creator LIVE operations by providing backend support at creator live studios when needed, such as assisting with session monitoring, campaign coordination, and operational requirements.
• Support ad hoc analytics, process documentation, workflow improvements, and basic research on potential creators, campaigns, and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Creator Managers, Strategy, Campaign, and other cross-functional teams on ongoing projects and operational initiatives.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related course.
• Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX, SUMIFS, PivotTables, charts, data validation, and basic reporting automation.
• Proficient in productivity and collaboration tools such as Lark, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
• Comfortable handling and processing large datasets, including data cleaning, reconciliation, quality checks, and anomaly identification.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to translate data into clear insights, key takeaways, and actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to organize information clearly, prepare well-structured decks, confidently present updates, and explain data findings in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, stakeholders, and changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or project experience in e-commerce, data analytics, business intelligence, creator operations, digital marketing, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Comfortable with data tracking, reporting, and presentation, including maintaining trackers, monitoring performance, identifying trends, and presenting key findings.
• Familiarity with AI and automation tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Lark automation, or similar workflow and productivity tools is an advantage.
• High ownership and bias for action, with a proactive approach to identifying issues, proposing solutions, and driving tasks to completion.
• Curious and innovation-minded, with an interest in improving trackers, automating repetitive work, and finding more efficient reporting methods.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, creator, and livestreaming metrics such as GMV, orders, conversion, traffic, sessions, and pacing versus target.
• Exposure to BI or analytics tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.

Basic SQL or Python knowledge is a plus.
