Qualifications

• At least 3 years working experience on programmable logic controllers and drives maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret PLC diagrams, Control Narratives, and electrical drawings.
• Ability to program in multiple languages, with preference on ladder logic and structured text.
• Broad knowledge and understanding on instrumentation and controls engineering practices.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts periodic maintenance on programmable logic controllers and drives, including assessing parameters, periodic rotation of drives, and modifications on the program.
• Reports findings and provides recommendation to resolve known issues, and ensures work orders related to programmable logic controllers and drives are completed.
• Supports electrical maintenance troubleshooting, programmable logic controller and drive upgrades, and troubleshooting of breakdowns and unplanned maintenance.
• Supports new equipment design reviews and provides input in reference to specifications and good design practice.
• Manages electronics spare parts and potential equipment failures on controls related items.
• Trains and develops crane technicians to understand and troubleshoot controls related issues on equipment.
• Backs up programmable logic controllers and acts as custodian of all related firmware and programs for cranes.
