Job summary

TroyCor Lighting Corporation is seeking a Cost Estimator to support engineering and production with detailed cost modeling and profitability analysis. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to optimize materials, labor, and overhead, develop costing databases, and drive cost-reduction initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates based on engineering drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM), and customer requirements.
• Analyze material, labor, tooling, machine, overhead, and production costs to determine total product cost.
• Conduct cost comparisons and variance analysis between estimated and actual production costs.
• Review product designs and manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to understand manufacturing methods, process flows, cycle times, and production capabilities.
• Support new product development and new product introduction activities through cost feasibility studies and profitability analysis.
• Recommend alternative materials, suppliers, manufacturing methods, or design modifications to improve cost effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain costing models, standard costing systems, and product cost databases.
• Prepare cost breakdowns, quotations, and management reports for decision-making purposes.
• Monitor raw material pricing trends and assess their impact on product profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives across the organization.
• Ensure all cost estimates comply with company standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing operational costs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Analysis
