Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking a Cost Engineer to lead cost planning, estimation, budgeting, and cost control for aerodrome projects in the Philippines. The role focuses on ensuring accurate cost forecasts and maintaining budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

You will review BOQs, monitor expenditures, coordinate with project teams, prepare financial reports, and support procurement and contracts. A Philippine PE license and at least five years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer with a valid PRC license.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience as a Cost Engineer, reckoned from the date of professional registration.
• Strong knowledge of construction cost estimating, budgeting, quantity surveying, cost control, and contract administration.
• Proficient in the preparation and review of BOQs, cost estimates, variation orders, and project financial reports.
• Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and applicable engineering standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and cost estimating software.
• Experience in airport, aerodrome, transportation, or major infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of FIDIC and government construction contracts.
• Experience in earned value management (EVM), project controls, and financial reporting. Training or certification in quality management systems, materials testing, or construction quality assurance.
• Experience working with airport authorities, government agencies, consultants, and international contractors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review cost estimates, BOQ’s, budgets, and forecasts for aerodrome projects.
• Monitor project costs, expenditures, progress billings, and variation orders to ensure effective cost control.
• Review contractor claims, change orders, and payment applications for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
• Analyze project cost performance and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders on cost-related matters and project reporting.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports, cash flow projections, and other financial documentation required for project management.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
