Job summary

eClerx is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage product costs, inventory, COGS, and variances, ensuring accurate financial reporting by monitoring manufacturing and inventory-related costs and providing meaningful analysis to management.

The ideal candidate has strong cost accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with inventory, variance analysis, and month-end close, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven environments.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, COGS, product costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with standard and/or actual costing is preferred.
• Knowledge of FIFO and weighted average costing.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills: PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze product and inventory costing for accuracy.
• Reconcile inventory balances between subledger and General Ledger.
• Calculate and review COGS and gross margin.
• Analyze standard vs actual costs and investigate variances.
• Perform material, labor, overhead, and production variance analyses.
• Review inventory movements and related transactions.
• Support monthly/quarterly/year-end closings for inventory and cost accounting.
• Prepare and post journal entries for inventory, COGS, accruals, and variances.
• Assist with audits by providing schedules and reconciliations.
• Maintain organized cost accounting records and reporting.
