About the Role
The Content Writer writes across social, email, web, ads, scripts and long-form, working inside a fully remote team of designers, project managers, marketing specialists, a social media manager and an SEO specialist. The role is trusted with briefs, not just assignments: the writer is expected to bring ideas, ask smart questions early, and ship clean work on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Copywriting and content creation
- Writes copy for social media, websites, email campaigns and newsletters, paid ads, scripts, decks and other marketing materials.
- Develops hooks, captions, CTAs and messaging frameworks that fit the channel and the funnel stage.
- Produces long-form pieces (blog posts, articles, thought-leadership, case studies, video and podcast scripts) when the brief calls for it.
- Writes with search and AI discovery in mind: clear structure, search intent, and answers that hold up when summarized by AI tools.
Brand voice and messaging
- Learns each client's voice and applies it consistently across every platform and campaign series.
- Shifts tone to match the audience and the objective, from warm and conversational to formal and corporate.
- Helps build and refine messaging frameworks, tone-of-voice guides and content pillars.
Research and strategy support
- Researches industries, audiences, competitors and topics before writing, and verifies every claim, statistic and source used.
- Turns findings into usable insight: angles, key messages and content gaps that sharpen the brief.
- Supports content calendars, campaign frameworks and messaging directions.
- Reads performance data (engagement, open and click rates, conversions) and uses it to adjust future copy.
Working with AI tools responsibly
- Uses AI tools to speed up research, outlining and first drafts, never to replace judgment or originality.
- Fact-checks, rewrites and fully owns anything AI-assisted so the final copy is accurate, on-brand and sounds human.
- Follows BSD and client policies on AI use, confidentiality and disclosure.
Collaboration and workflow
- Works with the Project Manager on briefs, deadlines and revision rounds, with tasks tracked in ClickUp.
- Partners with designers so copy and visuals land together, and with SEO and social specialists so content is built to perform.
- Flags missing information, unclear briefs or timeline risks early.
- Takes client and internal feedback on board accurately and turns revisions around quickly.
Editing and quality control
- Self-edits every piece for grammar, clarity, tone, flow and factual accuracy before submission.
- Follows BSD's formatting and file-naming standards.
- Polishes or refines teammates' copy when needed.
