Due to business expansion, we are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the execution of utility-scale solar projects in the Philippines. The Construction Manager will be responsible for managing all on-site activities during the construction phase, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, safety compliance, and budget adherence. This role is pivotal in driving successful project execution and handover to Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, and reporting methodologies during the construction phase.

  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation and reports.

  • Provide regular status updates, management presentations, and key project reports.

Pre-Construction Phase

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to review site surveys, technical studies, and pre-construction planning.

  • Support procurement and tendering processes, including contractor selection and contract reviews.

  • Assist in finalizing construction schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones.

Construction Execution Phase

  • Lead and manage the site construction team to meet project targets in terms of timeline, quality, safety, and budget.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, suppliers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

  • Monitor daily site activities, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

  • Implement risk management and mitigation strategies throughout the construction lifecycle.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution and timely decision-making.

  • Ensure proper documentation and information transfer for seamless handover to O&M at COD.

Ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in large-scale EPC or construction projects, preferably in solar energy.

  • Strong knowledge of construction management tools and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with government regulations and permitting processes related to renewable energy is a plus.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and workstreams simultaneously.

  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and team motivation skills.
