You will review drawings and specs, obtain quotations, develop BOQs, and ensure pricing aligns with budgets and Australian building requirements. Strong software skills with Bluebeam, CostX, Buildxact, or Cubit are essential, along with practical knowledge of Melbourne markets.

Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and project requirements to determine materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
Develop detailed BOQs, cost breakdowns, and project estimates while maintaining target budgets and margins.
Identify scope gaps, variations, and potential cost risks before project commencement.
Coordinate with builders, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify requirements and finalise estimates.
Ensure estimates reflect Australian construction standards, building requirements, and current market pricing.
3+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in Australian residential construction.
Strong knowledge of residential building processes, materials, labour costs, and construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
Proficient in estimating and take-off software such as Bluebeam, CostX, Buildxact, Cubit, or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of Australian construction standards and building regulations.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication and coordination skills when working with builders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Experience with Melbourne residential construction projects, particularly custom homes, renovations, extensions, knockdown rebuilds, and dual-occupancy developments.
