Mechanical Engineer - Quantity Surveyor (Taguig, National Capital Region)

Job Description

Requirements:

• Degree of Mechanical Engineering
• Specialization in Quantity Surveying Field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry (New Build and Fit-Out Works of High Rise, Commercial, and Corporate Offices)
• Experience in commercial, corporate office, hotels, new build / high rise towers
• Professional license holder preferred but not required.
• Knowledgeable in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Knowledgeable in commercial fit-outs
• Experience handling BOQ and Unit Price Analysis
• Knowledgeable in Planswift
• Knowledge in Revit is a plus
• Review Mechanical, Plumbing, Sanitary, and FirePro plan and specifications, and checking of design related queries for the completion of cost estimates.
• Measure plan and prepare bill of quantities for mechanical, plumbing, sanitary and fire protection system;
• Evaluate contractor’s proposal for all PMI’s, change order and other construction-related claims;
• Conduct site visits and reconciliation of evaluated proposals if necessary.
• Prepare cost estimates for project cost evaluation and comparison;
• Complete evaluation of technical and commercial bids;
• Quarterly updating of material / equipment cost database
• Coordination with Site Managers, Engineers, Consultants, and Suppliers;
• Performs other related duties and functions as may be assigned by immediate superior.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for building construction
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with contractors
• Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
• Ensure project timeline is met

Requirements:

• Graduate of Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Professional License (Board Passer).
• At least 3 years work experience in vertical construction is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems
• Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, or similar
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
