Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Compliance Specialist to oversee site compliance, permitting support, and regulatory coordination across TBG sites. You will monitor progress, address non-compliance issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive compliant project outcomes.

You will develop compliance plans, manage regulatory documentation, and train teams while contributing to community impact and sustainable energy initiatives.

Qualifications

• College graduate; a background in law or experience in the power industry is preferred.
• More than 4 years of related work experience in the power industry, project management, or risk management.
• At least 2 years of active project management or risk management experience.
• Leadership experience not required, but readiness for team leader administrative and HR support.
• License requirements: None.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements, ensuring timely submissions and reporting across TBG sites.
• Serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, addressing compliance concerns.
• Develop compliance strategies and action plans, identify and mitigate regulatory risks, support project permitting.
• Manage regulatory records, tools, reporting systems, and official communications.
• Monitor legislative developments, support policy reviews and training for stakeholders.
• Assist in budget preparation and administrative functions to support the department.

As Compliance Specialist, you will oversee and ensure site compliance by providing strategic permitting support, monitoring progress, addressing non-compliance issues, and coordinating with stakeholders and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with Compliance team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Regulatory Compliance & Permit Management – Oversee and maintain all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements, ensuring timely submissions, compliance with applicable regulations, and accurate reporting across TBG sites.
• Regulatory Coordination & Government Relations – Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, addressing compliance concerns, managing regulatory submissions, and maintaining strong working relationships with key regulators.
• Compliance Planning, Risk Management & Project Support – Develop compliance strategies and action plans, identify and mitigate regulatory and permitting risks, and support project permitting requirements to ensure business continuity and project success.
• Regulatory Systems, Documentation & Communications – Manage regulatory records, compliance tools, reporting systems, and official communications while ensuring accurate documentation and monitoring of regulatory deadlines.
• Regulatory Intelligence, Policy Development & Training – Monitor legislative and industry developments, assess regulatory impacts, support policy reviews and technical working groups, and provide training and guidance to relevant stakeholders.
• Department Administration & Leadership Support – Assist in budget preparation, administrative and people management functions, and perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental objectives.

• Possesses strong regulatory expertise: Has a solid grasp of laws, regulations, and procedures on the application of permits and licenses, as well as reporting requirements with different government agencies and local units.

• Is an exceptional communicator and relationship builder: Can easily draft critical communications, represent the company in public consultations, and maintain vital networks with government regulators and internal departments.
• Demonstrates meticulous planning and a focus on quality: Can establish robust compliance systems, maintain detailed records, and manage strict deadlines.
• Is innovative and resilient: Proposes creative policies to improve existing systems and shows resilience when dealing with difficult compliance challenges or setbacks.
• Collaborates and catalyzes teams: Effectively guides process and permit owners, coordinates across diverse departments, and delivers supportive leadership to the team.
• Makes sound decisions: Employs intermediate-level decision-making skills to resolve compliance issues and support operational goals

What You Will Need:

• Education: College graduate; a background in law or experience in the power industry is preferred.
• Professional Experience: More than 4 years of related work experience in the power industry, project management, or risk management.
• Project or Risk Management Experience: At least 2 years of active project management or risk management experience.
• Leadership Experience: No formal leadership experience is required, though you must be ready to deliver team leader administrative and human resources support functions.
