I. Purpose Of The Job
The Company Nurse is responsible for delivering occupational health services including implementation and evaluation of health maintenance and health education programs.
II. Principal Accountabilities
Medical Services
Monitors health conditions of employees
Takes vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, etc. during employee consultations
Dispenses standard drugs and medicines such as aspirin and cough or cold tablets, ensuring that correct control, storage and administration of drugs and medicines are undertaken.
Prepares Monthly Inventory of Medicine and Medicine Purchase form.
Documents medical findings in the employee’s medical record.
Conducts home or hospital visits, when necessary.
Provides on-site emergency care (first aid treatment) providing medications, health assessments and referral.
Brings employee to hospital in cases when the clinic does not have the facility to treat the sickness or accident.
Follows up laboratory results of sick employees.
Health Programs
Initiates info drive or campaign about epidemics, updates from DOH, and the like.
Assess employees' medical condition and initiates action for necessary medical management
Arrange health and safety programs
Conducts regular worksite assessments to determine employee’s work processes and potential sources of illness and injury. Monitors employee safety, sanitation and grooming
Counsels employees on health maintenance, results of health screenings and health promotion activities
Recommends occupational health and safety programs. Establishes tie-ups with government, non-government organizations (NGOs), social and health institution for possible assistance in implementing health programs
Trains, coordinates and monitors activities of First Aiders.
Schedules APE of employees (Non-Card holder & Card holder)
