Job summary

Tetra Tech International Development seeks a Communications and Public Diplomacy Manager for the Australia Awards Philippines. You will lead strategic communications, public diplomacy and stakeholder engagement with DFAT, the Embassy and program partners to highlight impact and strengthen Australia‑Philippines relations.

You will develop campaigns, manage media activities, and ensure inclusive, accessible messaging aligned with priorities while coordinating with senior leadership and alumni

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, international relations or related discipline.
  • Experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public diplomacy or media management.
  • Ability to develop and deliver communication strategies, campaigns and engagement activities.
  • Strong relationship management with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for high‑quality products.
  • Strategic, collaborative and adaptable with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results.

Australia Awards Philippines

The Australia Awards Philippines (AAP) supports the selection, mobilisation and re-integration of Filipino Australia Award recipients. The investment will also support short courses, fellowships and learning visits, and facilitate ongoing engagement between Australia and Australian-educated Filipino alumni. AAP will strengthen bilateral cooperation by fostering people-to-people and institutional links between Australia and the Philippines.

The role

The Communications and Public Diplomacy Manager leads the strategic delivery of communications, public diplomacy, media and stakeholder engagement for Australia Awards Philippines. Working closely with DFAT, the Australian Embassy and program stakeholders, the role will strengthen understanding of the program’s impact, support Australia-Philippines relationships and ensure communications are engaging, inclusive, accessible and aligned with Australian Government and program priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Australia Awards Philippines' communications and public diplomacy activities.
  • Develop and implement strategic communications, engagement and promotional initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with DFAT, government partners, alumni, media and key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic communications advice to senior leadership and support program visibility and reputation.
  • Oversee communication products, campaigns and content across digital, media and event platforms.
  • Monitor communications performance and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and program impact.
Selection criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, international relations or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public diplomacy or media management.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver communication strategies, campaigns and engagement activities.
  • Strong relationship management skills and experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing high-quality communication products.
  • Strategic, collaborative and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results
