Job summary

MCI is seeking a Collections Data Scientist to join our data and analytics efforts. You will scale data solutions by collaborating with internal teams to address data needs, improve processes, and support business outcomes with strong analytical and technical capabilities.

The role emphasizes data engineering, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with leaders and offshore partners to implement data-driven improvements across multiple business processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years related experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
• Familiarity with diverse and emerging technologies and architectural concepts.
• Knowledgeable in data engineering languages and tools; proficient in new technologies.
• Understanding of layered solutions, data engineering concepts and product features, with security focus.
• Strong negotiation, consensus-building, influencing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops technology-enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process.
• Identifies potential impact on business strategy and suggests solutions as needed.
• Documents existing processes, organizational structures, architectures, and external systems.
• Advises on tools to prepare deliverables and helps develop tools and methodologies for the org.
• Manages peer relationships with colleagues, vendors and contractors, including offshore functions.
• Assists with development and execution of cut-over plans for simple processes.
• Supports post-implementation, resolves issues and raises defects appropriately.
• Executes transition plans to hand off areas of responsibility to others.
• Transfers knowledge and ownership to teams for key deliverables across modules.
