Job summary

SolarWinds is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to build, operate, and improve production and internal platforms across AWS, Linux, and MySQL environments. The role emphasizes reliability, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to support SolarWinds’ products and services.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, and database troubleshooting, and will participate in on-call rotations to ensure service continuity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Solid experience administering and troubleshooting MySQL in production environments.
• Strong Linux systems administration skills.
• Experience with on-call rotations and incident response.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation using Bash and Python.
• Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools like Ansible, Salt, Chef, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support production and non-production infrastructure in AWS.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and services.
• Support MySQL environments, including performance tuning and maintenance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents.
• Improve reliability, availability, and performance via automation and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and optimize infrastructure services.
• Troubleshoot issues across compute, storage, networking, OS, and databases.
• Document processes and runbooks to improve team effectiveness.
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, patching, and capacity planning.
