Clinical Coding Trainer – DRG Specialist

Location: Quezon City

Compensation: ₱62,000 – ₱79,000 + R1 Allowance + Clinical Allowance

About the Role

We are looking for a Clinical Coding Trainer – DRG Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for onboarding and training new analysts/auditors, conducting internal quality reviews, and identifying key areas for improvement to ensure our auditing team performs at the highest standards.

You will also provide continuous education, respond to auditing support questions, and deliver updated training aligned with the latest industry rules and guidelines.

This position requires an expert-level professional with deep knowledge of DRG coding and medical documentation, strong communication skills, and a passion for developing people.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate onboarding, training, and ramp-up of new hires.
• Conduct boot camp presentations and EMR/Cloudmed training sessions.
• Perform daily QA checks on trainees' casework.
• Develop training materials and update processes as needed.
• Conduct monthly quality reviews to identify education opportunities.
• Provide continuing education, coaching, and performance feedback to auditing staff.
• Support the auditing team by responding to inquiries and escalations.
• Review inpatient medical records for DRG assignment validation when needed.
• Prepare reports, track trends, and communicate findings to leadership.
• Participate in special projects and assessments as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year as a DRGV Auditor/Analyst.
• At least 5 years of experience in Medical Coding, including 3 years in DRG coding.
• Must hold current AHIMA credentials (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS).
• Preferred: CDI credentials (CDIP and/or CCDS).
• Strong knowledge of IPPS, UHDDS, ICD-10-CM, and PCS.
• Proficient in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
• Bachelor's degree in a medical allied course.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training facilitation skills.
• Strong command of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adaptability.
• Flexible with shift schedules when needed.
