Job description

Position Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Marine Claims, this position is primarily responsible for all processes necessary to process and evaluate claims in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position will provide administrative support to claims units and handle routine data management, internal/external communication and other basic claims functions.

Key Areas of Responsibility for the Role

Performs clerical and administrative support services relating to claims handling, documentation, compliance, data management, reporting, collaboration, and claims software implementation. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Dimensions of the Job

  • Claim Handling: Assisting with the investigation, assessment, and resolution of marine insurance claims.
  • Documentation: Gathering, reviewing, and maintaining accurate claim documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that claims are handled in compliance with our marine claims procedure and industry standards.
  • Data Management: help maintain and updating claims records and databases on excel for pre 2025 claims and on the new claims software for 2025 claims and beyond.
  • Reporting: Generating reports on claims activity and performance.
  • Support: Providing administrative and clerical support to the Claims Manager
  • Collaboration: Working with other offices at origin or destination to process and collect claims.
  • Claims Software: Responsible for implementing the new claims software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Skills (i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, etc.).
  • Work experience on cargo claims.
  • Able to work across time zones. This is a global position.
  • Understands air and ocean freight procedures.
  • Understanding of geography and logistics.
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of supply chain operations.
  • Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentational skills
  • Background of international logistics & shipping

Preferred:

  • Advanced proficiency in analytics software, Oracle, and Microsoft Power BI, Excel & Access.
  • Experience working in global, multicultural environments with required cultural awareness.
