Outdesk is seeking an experienced Civil Drafter to produce high-quality civil drawings for infrastructure projects. You will transform design concepts into detailed construction documents, ensuring compliance with Australian standards while leveraging your AutoCAD expertise.

Responsibilities include producing drafting plans for land subdivisions, roads, and utilities, and collaborating with project engineers remotely.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of proven civil drafting experience in civil/land development projects.
• Strong hands-on AutoCAD experience for civil drafting applications.
• Experience drafting civil infrastructure including subdivisions, roads, stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation networks.
• Ability to read, interpret, and translate civil engineering drawings into final plan sets.
• Solid understanding of levels, contours, site grading, and earthworks principles.
• Experience with 12d Model is a plus.

Job Brief

We are seeking an experienced Civil Drafter to produce high-quality civil engineering drawings and support the delivery of essential infrastructure projects.

This role plays a key part in transform ing engineering design concepts into clear, accurate, and detailed construction documentation. Working closely with project engineers and management, the successful remote professional will ensure that all civil plans for residential and commercial developments comply with Australian engineering standards and accurately reflect the design intent.

Responsibilities

• Civil Plan Preparation

• Produce clear, detailed, and professional civil drafting plans for land subdivisions, roadworks, stormwater drainage, water, and sewer infrastructure.

• Site & Public Domain Works Drafting

• Draft accurate layout plans, profiles, and cross-sections for driveways, earthworks, and public domain infrastructure projects.

• Engineering Intent Execution

• Interpret civil engineering hand sketches and design directions to create accurate technical drawings that fulfil the engineer’s exact design intent.

• Survey Data Integration

• Process and work from survey data and contours to establish precise ground levels, grading, and vertical alignments across site models.

• Design Accuracy & Quality Control

• Review and self-check drafting output to eliminate discrepancies, maintain drawing standards, and reduce construction rework.

• Documentation Management

• Organise and maintain structured CAD layers, block libraries, xrefs, and electronic drawing files to ensure seamless team collaboration.

• Project Team Collaboration

• Communicate regularly with project engineers and stakeholders to resolve design queries and meet strict project delivery schedules.

Requirements

• Ideally 2 to 5 years of proven civil drafting experience supporting civil engineering or land development projects.

• Strong and essential hands‑on expertise in AutoCAD for civil drafting applications.

• Demonstrated experience drafting civil infrastructure, including subdivisions, roads, stormwater, sewer, and water reticulation networks.

• Strong capability to read, interpret, and translate civil engineering concept drawings and design notes into final plan sets.

• Solid understanding of levels, contours, site grading, and civil earthworks principles.

• Previous experience with 12d Model software is considered a distinct advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to liaise effectively with remote engineering teams.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or a Diploma of Civil Construction Design.
