Role Description

SitePlans.us is looking for an experienced Civil 3D Site Plan Drafter to prepare residential site plans for U.S. homeowners, general contractors, builders, and construction professionals.

The role involves researching GIS and property records, preparing accurate site plans in Autodesk Civil 3D, coordinating project requirements with clients, and delivering drawings within established turnaround times.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, solve drafting problems, and take ownership of projects from initial research through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. GIS Data Research: Research and gather parcel boundaries, property dimensions, aerial imagery, topographic data, and other available GIS information from U.S. county and municipal sources.
2. Site Plan Drafting: Prepare residential site plans in Autodesk Civil 3D, including property lines, existing and proposed structures, setbacks, driveways, utilities, dimensions, annotations, and contours where required.
3. Client Coordination: Review client-submitted information, clarify missing project requirements, and communicate professionally regarding deliverables.
4. Revisions: Review and implement client and municipal review comments, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
5. Timely Delivery: Manage assigned projects to meet a standard 24-hour turnaround, depending on scope and available information.
6. Quality Control: Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, scales, labels, and PDF deliverables before submission.

Required Experience

• Proven experience drafting residential site plans using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Ability to research and interpret GIS parcel data, aerial imagery, and property records.
• Understanding of property boundaries, setbacks, building footprints, and site plan conventions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good written English for client communication.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred: Previous experience preparing site plans for U.S. residential building permit applications.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a paid drafting test.
